Hello people, here is my sample for TAST 2012 WEEK 9 ! Couching is something that I have not done a lot of,

so I took the bull by the horns and the first thing that I thought of was a tree ! I adore trees,I think it is so sad to chop them down....so in honour of the mighty oak, this is MY tree.............I couches down all the foundation branches and then used a crochet hook ti intertwine and knarl the branches...twisting and turning, I then added lots of beads and french knots.........Hope you like my mighty blossom tree..........xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx !!!!!

Hello my lovely followers, this week its chain stitch ! Tried to go off the wall a little bit with this one ! TAST 2012 DETACHED CHAIN WEEK 7

Hello all, the weeks are flying by, no sooner have I finished one mandala...then I'm finishing the next one and so on ! This mandala was very fun to do, I so love this stitch which is AKA LAZY DAISY.......so versatile !
I stay so focused doing this TAST challenge....what am I going to do when its finished.....sigh......One thing i would like to mention is the fact that the anchored stitches in the centrepiece are a different colour ? How did I do it..........You'll have to ask me in a comment !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not quite so many beads used on this one as I did not want to detract from the beauty of the stitches, I really wanted to showcase the stitch !! I truely am very grateful for any comments left on my work and would like to thank Romilly from http://stitchingwithashimmy.com/ for featuring me on her ' Mondays Treasures spot' !!!

Hello all, well its that time of the week again , when I show my sample for week 6 of the Tast challenge !

I have used a few washers covered with thread along with some crystals and beads.......a sort of a 'freeform' effort, which I think has worked quite well !! Hello all, This is my sample for TAST week 5 ! Herringbone stitch....such a fascinating stitch, you can do so much with it ! I have used evenweave fabric this week as it gives such a neatness to this stitch,and I wanted to show you all my beaded mandalas in a different light !! Hello all, on this frosty UK morning ! This week on the TAST challenge, the stitch to be used was CRETAN

stitch ! When I started this mandala, I had no plan as to what it would become and low and behold, I've ended up with an underwater theme......which I am quite pleased with. feather stitch is the order of the week ! Hello, today is my first post on the T A S T challenge. Sharron Boggan from http://www.pintangle.com/ is running a 'year' challenge. Each week she will give one stitch to learn / play with and see what lovely creations people come up with !

I have decided to do a series of Bead Mandalas incorporating each stitch........by the end of the year, I should have 52 bead mandalas which I would present in the form of a wall hanging ! The first weeks stitch is 'FLY' STITCH...............This is my Mandala no.1
I had no particular design in mind, I just started from the middle and worked out from there ! The Mandala is not a perfect circle, but because I have done the whole thing freehand, I did not expect it to be perfect !
I am more than pleased at how this mandala has turned out and so look forward to making my next one.......
I have a link on my sidebar if any of you would like to join in.....There are over 500 people taking part and alot of them are NEW stitchers, so this is a fantastic resource for learning embroidery and its FREE !!!

TAST 2012 CHALLENGE !

Hello dear people.......thought it was about time for an update on my sewing project and just to show that I have'nt lost my card making skills, I have two cards to share with you ! First the cards......... I made these for a couple of people who are dear friends to me.......so I especially made the effort, hope you both like them !!!

Next is an update on my project.....got a little more done but so busy with christmas coming !!

And last but not least....I have been playing with a few stitches to get ready for my TAST 2012 CHALLENGE !
This is a challenge for a sampling of a different stitch each week and there are 500 people taking part ! BLUEBIRD OF HAPPINESS !

Hello everyone, a nice bright sunny morning here in the UK ! This is the start of my latest embroidery.....It is an ELSA WILLIAMS traditional crewel embroidery kit, that is new on the market ! My dear husband treated me as he knew I had fallen in love with this piece !
It is embroidered with wool by tradition and dates right back in history !! I shall post up my progress probably on a weekly basis for those are interested ! I cannot seem to muster up any mojo for card making at the moment, so sorry !!
Oh and by the way, my DH has posted the most fascinating fungi on his blog........We visited a place called 'Hay woods' this week and I was absolutely amazed at the array of Fungi growing there !! AUTUMN FLOURISH EMBROIDERY PART 2 UPDATE !

Hello people, just an update on my progress with this embroidery! As you can imagine it is very slow going as life
gets in the way sometimes !
I have used a number of different stitches..........Buttonhole, Fern, French
knots, colonial knots, needle weaving, long and short stitch for shading and Chain stitch !
I have added tiny pearls and Goldwork
Tubes called 'PERL-PURL'.
I have used many different threads also, DMC Satin, DMC floss, Anchor pearl cotton, coton a'broder and Gold metallic threads!
As you an see, I am only showing parts of the embroidery......You will have to wait and see PART 3 to see what the finished article will look like !!

AUTUMN FLOURISH EMBROIDERY.....PART 1

Hello all, I'd like to show you the first part of my embroidery ! This is not a bought kit......it is a design from a very old Jacobean embroidery transfer. Traditionally Jacobean work is done with wool,but I prefer to work with embroidery silks......As you can see, this is FINE embroidery, not cross stitch ! Fine embroidery

encompasses all manner of intricate stitches i.e. french knots, bullions,blanket stitch, buttonhole stitch,fly stitch etc. In the next few weeks I shall show you my progress, as I shall be doing several different embroideries and if life allows, I shall try and fit in a card now and then.......Thank you for looking at my work, I do appreciate all your comments.......Have a wonderful Monday..........xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

CIRCLE IT !!! The Stampman Challenge..........

Hello lovely people, the Stampman has got a fabulous challenge this month, and I decided to have a go....

and came up with this creation !! I so enjoyed every second of this creation......the creative juices just flowed, it was such a buzz !! Such a simple card......Circles cut with punches and dies inked up with memento inkpads, green yellow and then hand stitched with perl thread, Hero arts butterfly inked and glittered, the central focus is a stamp from Inkadinkado which I have 3D'ed with a butterfly punch, gems, pearls and a Justrite sentiment.......I may do another creation for this challenge.......hope it inspires you !!!

Hello you lovely people ! I made this card last night and really enjoyed the process.....love the colour combo

on this one!! I used a beautiful Hero arts stamp that I know is one of Jacqueline's favourites. For the rose I used the spellbinders rose dies and used memento green and pink with stickles, paper from stash, stamping up punch for trailing leaves and Marianne creatables dies for the flourishes, added some pearls and a sentiment.......Hope this inspires you, have a beautiful day........ xxxxxxxx

Hello folks, first off...a big apologie for not blogging much lately, but having a very demanding puppy is bloomin hard work and concentration is just out the window....slowly but surely things are picking up and I should manage to get more creations posted !!!

This card done in aqua, green and yellow really appealed to me, love this colour combo ! I have designed my own stitched pattern as the border and decorated with little pearls......I then made the Parchment butterfly and hand cut the patterns on the wings and sprinkled Glamour dust on them for effect !!! This is the final result .......

Hello people, a very still, overcast sunday here in the U.K. ! I have had a really exhausting week with Max, my puppy...........He is so lively and energetic !! The toilet training has gone exceptionally well and I know with all the effort that i have put in, I shall reap the rewards....four clean and dry nights, this cant be bad can it. Hello folks, I've just become a mum again to my new fur baby MAX !!! He is a miniature Schnauzer puppy

CHARACTER IN FLOWERS !

Hello folks and happy sunday to you all ! I'm certainly getting back into the swing of things ! I decided that i wanted to do a card with 'NO PROPS' !! By this ,I mean no die cuts, no manufactured elements, just the bare basics.......But then i deided to gold emboss some of the squares and printed off the little flowers so i did cheat just a little.........The words were cut out from an old book, which by the way, I can pick up for pennies at the second hand shops.......I used marvy le plume markers and a black and white gel pen for the dots.....a couple of gems in the centre of the little flowers and thats it !!! By the way , the coloured images are doodles that i drew by hand.....I am very pleased with this piece, Thanks for looking xxxxxx

Hello all, a very beautiful morning in the uk ! This is a card that i have made experimenting with watercolour ! I have stamped the background with ARTEMIO stamps and if you look close up, you will see that i have chain stitched the border,
added a bird that has been cut from an old nature book and used a brad for his eye !
The bird, butterfly and text are coated with Glossy accents....gems on the butterfly

I love this brown cardstock, it's very trendy at the moment.....i think it gives a lovely

backdrop to most embellishment !

I embellished with handmade flower, sepia photo, gorgeous shabby butterfly (that i traced from a parchment craft book),teastained musical note paper, ribbon brad and gem, Oh and my little ribbon bow.......PHEW, i think thats all !!!

Hi folks, first an apology about the shabby chic video....I had many problems trying to load the video....but i'm on the case and it will happen, just watch this space !
The weather here today in the uk has reverted back to winter i think, its awful !!
My dear friend Jacqueline http://myscrapbasket.blogspot.com/ posted an awesome creation yesterday, which had a profound effect on me! So i set about using that

inspiration and this is happened........

Hi there, the sun is shining and the birds are singing on
this glorious wednesday here in the UK !
I came up with this little gem last night, based on the grid
theme that i absolutly adore (thankyou Jacqueline ).
These adorable panels are from 'Dovecraft' and i have
prettied them up with Heroarts and Tapestry stamps!
A spellbinders fancy banner diecut decorated with little
pearl embellishments and of course we could'nt be
without my obligatory delicately coloured butterfly......
which is sort of my trademark.......I love everything

Crimson beauties !

Hi guys, its 7.30am in the uk and its damp and overcast here today ! I felt like creating something Fiery and
dramatic today.....I feel sometimes that we do not use enough COLOUR ! I like subtle colours too but feel
they are used too often because they are 'SAFE' !!
Anyway i used my beloved Hero arts butterfly stamps, a designer paper from my stash and a spellbinders die cut
'Fancy banner'. The flowers i have made are punched out and watercoloured (so much nicer to use real water-
colours for flowers......I find that dye based ink, fades rather quickly and you soon loose the impact of colour and then you are back to 'WISHY WASHY PALE' COLOUR again !!

If you are creating a little masterpiece today, be bold and use COLOUR..........Have a lovely day all !!!

Hi there,its a beautiful day here in the uk and the forecast has told us to expect 28c by Sunday !!
Hot or what ? Anyway i have a GRID CARD for you today ! I have been fascinated by a blog
called JACQUELINE'S CRAFT NEST for quite some time now and i absolutely adore the
art that she produces. I am so very glad that i found Jacqueline and she has very kindly given me

Impress ink pad 'Garnet' and Adirondak 'stream' ! The butterfly is also Heroarts and added some Marianne design flourish diecuts and the usual bling, pearls and glitter! The heart is gold embossed and is from Crafty Individuals !!! Entered into C.I. VINTAGE WITH A HEART june challenge !!1

I used a stampin up 'fancy square ' punch. I coloured them with adirondak 'stream', 'meadow' and 'currant' and also used stampin up 'tempting turquoise' ! Hello everyone,the weather is glorious today, and my 'mojo' is back big style !!
I've made this card for someone who needs kind thoughts and well wishes ......
Jacqueline this is in the post for you, hope you like it !!!
I've used stampin up 'melon Mango' ink and also a Stampin up 'French script'
stamp and stitched around the edges of the left hand panel. then i used some lace
print backing paper and Guippere lace and adorned the card with watercolour butterflies stamped from 'Hero arts'. I then blinged the butterflies with fine gold glitter and some pretty pearls......... There flying home to you Jacqueline xxxxx

Good morning all, a beautiful morning here in the uk !
Husband's gone to play golf, Barbara Gray from clarity stamping is on telly for two hours demonstrating and i'm having a glorious lazy sunday......just bliss !!!
Now onto my card, i felt that i needed to do something fancy and frilly and this is

what emerged !! I moved out of my comfort zone with this one, I'm not normally a
lacy frilly person but i think this worked out reasonably well! i dont know if i'm entirely happy with it.....maybe its something i should keep trying !!!

Hi, I'm sending a little sunshine to my friend Sue, from Auckland!
Appararently the weather is awful there at the moment..........
I've used an elusive images butterfly stamp, coloured with prisma
pencils. The scalloped edge background is inked and then white
embossed, this is particularly pretty and was one of many gifts sent to me from Sue

Hi everyone, it is sunday evening and the weather is a bit dreary here in the U.K.
I have an unusual post for you this evening !
When i went on holiday last week, i had an overwhelming urge to sew ?
So i armed myself with a biscornu pattern ! The word BISCORNU is french and the definition of this word is 'QUIRKY, ODDLY SHAPED' ! I have added tiny beads to the pattern!!

Biscornus are all the rage at the moment,in the sewing world........people collect them, swap them etc! So here are a few pictures of my 'QUIRKY CUSHION' .......

Hi there, I have been looking at the challenge blog 'LESS IS MORE' and was so inspired by this genre, that i had to give it a go !! i stencilled with 'Big and Juicy' hydrangea inkpad, through an impressabilities stencil added some extra fine border peel-offs! Then i made a punched flower with a mini button for the centre. A vinyl butterfly with inset watercolour wings, and there you have it !!! hope you have a loving and creative day today................

Hello people,blogger has been down all day, so a lot of us who have 'blogger' blogs

Hello all, a bit overcast here in the uk today! hope you are all well !!
This is a little card i made using INKADINKADO inchies stamps . I've coloured them
with Twinkling H2O'S and varnished them with Glossy Accents! Black strips of card adorned with gold peel-offs and little green square gems....and there you have it !!

Hi everyone, a very overcast, dim and dark day today, in the U.K. !
So i thought i would brighten the day with a lovely photo of my grandaughter
ELLA !! She had a theme day at school yesterday and dressed as CINDERELLA !!
Her teacher was dressed as SHREK'S wife !!

Here she is in all her glory.......The bell of the ball........I am so proud of her, my beautiful grandaughter !!!!!!!

I am so pleased with this!
Iused a CRAFTY INDIVIDUALS stamped image and embossed it with white embossing powder .i then added a flower that i had made previously, added
a black satin ribbon and some lime green pearls . Such a clean cut and elegant card !! Thank you Sue for your inspiration and your treasured friendship !!

Hi everyone, weather a little overcast today !!
This is a project,that i did yesterday ! I did'nt plan it, it just happened !! one thing led to another and i ended up with this warm bejewelled creation !!!

what do you think ?

I used a big and juicy ink pad, with a Marianne stencil, a gold gel pen and some flat back pearls and gems ! I have also embroidered some parts of the design with very fine gold filament !!! I am very pleased with the result !!! This is a close up of the embroidery, hope you have a lovely happy day............!!!!!!

This is a card i have made for my mother-in-law ! She will be 83 years
young on the 26th april ! I have used papermania patterned paper and hand cut the anja stencil,watercoloured the pretty little butterfly in the

centre and added some 'line' peel offs and finished off with some pearls and gems...!! Hope you have a lovely, peaceful,sunshiny day !!!

Hello all, the sun is shining today here in the uk !
But i am rather sad today, as i lost my King charles cavalier,he passed away yesterday morning. He was a lovely happy little dog! His name was CHESTER and i loved him dearly !!
I have wonderful memories of Chester that will stay in my heart always !!

IN THE 'MOOKA' MOOD !!!

Hi there, as the title says, I'm in the 'mooka' mood ! Mooka is a new zentangle pattern
that i have just learned and this is my first project with this pattern . I think i can develope this pattern into something more intricate, with a bit more practice !! This actually puts me almost into a meditative state and the flowing lines just fall from the pen

onto the paper, it is such a phenominal experience. My husband says that i am loosing the 'plot', maybe but i'm happy and its fun.....! This is my entry for the' I AM THE DIVA'....... CHALLENGE 16....'MOOKA'. Have a 'be kind to yourself day' today, and that means you SUE and you ANNE....!!!

Hi there, the sun is just coming out here at 9am and the 'old man has gone to play golf....!! OH PEACE !!! So now i have a choice today, do i play with my crafty goodies or do some housework?? Well what do you think...?

This is my second zentangle which is coloured with my beloved pencils ! Since starting these doodles ,I've found that my creativity is so much better. My choices of colours, the ideas that i am coming up with are far more creative than ever before ! I know this is not everyone's cup of tea but i urge anyone who gets a mental block on their creativeness, to try this and i guarantee that your 'MOJO' will return better than ever...!!

Give it a try, I'm sure you'll be impressed, it works for me.....!!!!

This is my Mind Boggle, no props, no bling, no glitter, just my mind boggling doodle.

A.K.A. a 'Zentangle'.......? It's almost a form of meditation , when your doing it. FANCY FILIGRIS !

Hello all
Another beautiful day here in the UK ! This is my latest creation and i hope you like it !!
I've used Martha Stewart borders that i've inked with distress inks. I've used 'Papermania' oriental paper for the frame, which is beautiful with the gold embossing on it. The butterfly was very painstakingly made by my fair hand in Parchment craft !! I normally would not take on such a feat, but decided to look upon it as a challenge and i think it paid off !! I dont know if the camera does it real justice, but in the flesh it is beautiful ( even though i say so myself ). I adorned the butterfly with Glamour Dust and pearls and finished the ensemble with a pretty pink bow.... ! Hope your day is filled with pretty butterflies, sunshine and love........ !

ALL THAT GLISTENS !

Hi all, this is a card that has a little bit of sparkle ! I carefully cut out the image with a sharp craft knife and mounted it onto an adhesive sheet. I then sprinkled glitter into the cut image. Then i inked around the edges with big and juicy inkpad. I then stamped, embossed and watercoloured an 'elusive images' butterfly. I cut some black strips and gold embossed them. I then put the card together and added some square gems.....!!
The sun is shining today and i am very happy, as my son is coming home from UNI,

in Brighton tomorrow and i have'nt seen him since Christmas !!! Tomorrow will be an extra special day for me....!! I hope the weekend has something special for each and every one of you...........!!!!

Hi all, this is my attempt at watercolouring! I used the 'wet in wet' method to colour my pansie's petals. I embossed the stamped image with fine detail embossing powder in gold, then watercoloured them.Seeing as spring is nearly upon us here in the uk, i thought this would be a welcome addition to brighten up my blog.....!
