A rose for Sue ! ! !

Hello everyone, the sun is just coming out here in the UK this morning !
I have some very dear blogging friends and on occasion, I like to send a gift of my embroidery.........
My lovely friends Sue and Mike have a great photographic blog, which I enjoy immensely !
They have just returned from the USA  and I urge you to take a look at their blog......http://michaelgoodes.blogspot.co.uk/

So this is my latest embroidery......................
It was a bit of an experiment really.......I used my leaf design and then decided to design the rose in a completely different stitch than is usually used....French knots on stalks, angled to shape each petal in a perle 8 thread.......I have been so inspired by a couple of French blogs and the way they do embroidery !!
I find that studying their beautiful work, has helped me to express my own style and preferences !!
So lovely Susieque, this is winging its way to You..........with all my love and best wishes !!!!!!!

  2. Fantastic! The lines of the stems, the fabulous flower and those wonderful leaves. Design, colours and of course stitching, all first class, as always.

  7. Chris, this is a most beautiful embroidery. Just lovely. Is this considered Brazilian Embroidery? I'm just starting to learn this type of embroidery.

Terrific, I admired those leaves when you did them recently and I see that Susiequeue is about to receive a parcel, ooh beautiful, thank you. Such lovely colours too, thanks for the mention of the photo blog Mike he will be so thrilled. x

  10. This is a lovely embroidery Chris, the colours are lovely, pinks are one of my favourites to use. The leaf tutorial I found very useful as I have never done leaves in this way before so I will be giving it a try.
Thank you Chris for visiting my blog and for the lovely comments you are so encouraging
    Till next time.

  13. I used your design for a Christmas card, and hope you don't mind. Unfortunately my attempt is quite flat, and I should have used wool for a better result.
