MY EMBROIDERED LEAF TUTORIAL !

Hello everyone, hope you're having a wonderful Saturday ! Today, I have decided to show you how I embroider leaves................
YOU WILL NEED
APPLETONS CREWEL WOOL
PERLE 8
ANY VARIEGATED FLOSS
APPROPIATE NEEDLES

Transfer any medium sized Leaf design to your ground fabric.

With straight stitches fill in the leaf motif with appletons crewel wool, like so...............
Next, do small straight stitches, all around the outer edge......Come up through the crewel wool and down on

the outer edge with perle 8, like so...............................

Next, starting at the very tip of the leaf, do fairly close fly stitch with floss to represent the leaf veins, like so..........

This is what your leaf should like ..............................
I love the look of these leaves and using crewel wool as the base makes them look slightly raised off of
the ground fabric !!!

Have a practise and see what you can achieve !!!!!!!!!  Enjoy your week end...............xxxxxxxxxxxx

  12. Just found your blog and love your work. But, being allergic to wool, can crewel be done on another fabric, like cotton?
