Good morning all....It is a sunny morning here in the UK, just for a change !
Now all the festivities are over, its back to a normal routine and settling in to some good creative time, once more ! I've been working on a new crewel piece called 'PrimaVera', which is coming on beautifully and I am so pleased with how it is turning out ! So here is a little sneaky peek at it....................
I know its been a while since I posted on this blog but I do like to show something that is worthwhile....good 'Eye Candy' !!!
I also would like to show you all, this little embroidery, that I did many years ago !
I found it tucked away in the loft, gathering dust....so I have dragged it out for an airing.............
For anyone who is interested.....The thread that I used for this piece is in fact
ANCHOR MARLITT.......I stripped each strand into very, very fine strands that
resembles 'Japanese Flat Silk ' to give that very smooth finish !!!
Well that's all today folks........I do hope you enjoy my post today and your comments are very welcome, thank you to all my followers.....you make it all worthwhile !!!!! Have a great Sunday...............xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ReplyDeleteGorgeous stitching. I especially liked the close ups of your current work. I like the way you incorporate beads in your work.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is so nice to see action on your blog again! I've really missed your eye candy. So I am more than pleased to see your Prima Vera piece. I love crewel design and you add so much to it with your twist of beads and buttons.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth did that framed embroidery jewel end up in the loft?! Too stunning to be anywhere than in pride of place.
Looking forward to following your progress in future, too. Keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteWow! Your work is amazing to say the least! Thanks for sharing with all of us. Please continue!
ReplyDeleteHello! Your embroideries are so beautifull! It's a very nice work. I've never worked on a crewel piece but I should try, it seems very interesting with a mix of techniques and stitches.
ReplyDeleteI realise that my comment is much later than the blog, but I've only just come across it via Pinterest, so bear with me! Firstly, the embroidery is absolutely fabulous! Secondly, I must point out how much I love using Anchor Marlitt, too - I've accumulated a small stash and like to use it whenever I can. My favourite colour is colour 1013 (I think it is) - a delicate off-white/ivory, which enhances everything in which it's used, and is better in some instances, than white. Thanks for showing your lovely work.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stuff, and so expertly worked. I love the Anchor Marlitt too, and work it as often as I can without over-working it. My favourite colour is 1013 - a lovely off-white cum ivory shade, which is sometimes better than white.
ReplyDeleteI love the wool embroidery :-)
